This years InnovaWood General Assembly took place from 4 to 7 May 2026 in Tulln, Austria, hosted by the Wood K Plus and Booku University.

The agenda included networking activities, workshops, keynote speaches, and the introduction of new members. The common enthusiasm for wood research, innovation and education sparked an active exchange of ideas and collaborations.

Resource efficiency was this year’s focus. From technological, socioeconomic, and supply perspectives: innovative wood transformation technologies, valorising underused wood resources, and carbon-negative wood products, while still leaving room for other topics.

Over three days, participants experienced a range of familiar and new formats for networking, exchanging ideas and building new collaborations in wood research, innovation, and education.

New! Young researchers joined for free: Supporting the next generation of talent while keeping the InnovaWood community dynamic is our goal. Each InnovaWood member organisation is invited to bring one young researcher free of charge. Young researchers (MSc students, PhD candidates, or graduates within the past 8 years) can fully participate in the General Assembly and present during the dedicated pitch session: a great opportunity to showcase their work, grow their professional network, and connect with the community.
