InnovaWood Celebrates 25 Years of the Travelling General Assembly Across Europe
InnovaWood is celebrating its 25th anniversary, marking a quarter-century of collaboration, innovation and knowledge exchange across its European network of members, projects, partnerships and friendships.
One of its defining features is the traveling General Assembly (GA) which is co-hosted each year with a partner organisation in a different country. This rotating format allows members to connect, exchange expertise and learn from local practices, contexts and organisations across diverse European regions. Over 25 years, that adds up:
- ties that run deep across borders
- knowledge that moves between people and places
- memories that accumulate into a shared history
GA 2026 in Tulln, Austria: A community in focus
At this year’s GA in Tulln, Austria, co-hosted with WoodKplus and BOKU. we turned the camera on our community. With Florence Kuijl as reporter and Eva Čeh behind the lens, we asked both longstanding members and first-time participants to share their favourite GA destination. It was a pleasure to involve participants in such a creative endeavour for the first time.
Now it’s your turn: What has been your favourite IW General Assembly destination? answer the question on our Linkedin post.
Looking Ahead to GA 2027 in Romania
Next year’s General Assembly will be co-hosted by UNITBV (Transilvania University of Brasov, Faculty of Silviculture and Forest Engineering) in Brașov, Romania. This next edition will continue the tradition of travelling exchange, bringing the community together once again to explore new contexts, strengthen collaborations, and build on 25 years of shared history.
We look forward to adding a new chapter to that list, and to welcoming our community, and those who have not yet joined us.
Will we see you at GA 2027 in Romania?
