On the 10th of February 2025, InnovaWood co-hosted the RESONATE Final Policy Workshop in Brussels.
The RESONATE project, a large research action of 20 institutions in 12 countries for 4 years, explored how resilience knowledge and solutions can be adopted and mainstreamed in forestry and wood-based value chains, to adapt European forests better to climate change and increasing disturbances.
This final policy workshop was designed for various key stakeholders, including representatives of five DGs of the European Commission, various advocacy groups, and national organisations in forestry, wood industries and nature conservation. The event was well attended by 40 participants.
Following a presentation of the main results, the participants discussed the main policy recommendations, debating their implications for European policy landscape and further research needs. The three parallel sessions were aligned with the RESONATE Policy Briefs:
