On 25 March 2026, the Policy Conference “Unlocking Circularity and Market Potential from Wood Waste” brought together stakeholders from policy, industry and civil society in Brussels, hosted by the InnovaWood network and the European Panel Federation (EPF), alongside the EcoReFibre consortium.
During the New European Bauhaus Festival between 9th and 12th June in Brussels, InnovaWood was representing NEBA Alliance in which we collaborate as communication partners. Four members of the InnovaWood team -– Florence, Claudio, Eva, and Oliver – took part in the event, supporting the organisation and content of the stand, the interactive activities for the general audience related to skills and knowledge of wood, as well as the NEBA Alliance workshop and panel.
We are excited to announce that the InnovaWood General Assembly 2027 will take place from 11-13 May 2027 in Brașov, Romania!
From June 9-13 2026 the NEB Festival creates a place to understand people’s needs and aspirations and showcase projects that successfully reflect them. In doing so, it demonstrates how an inclusive, sustainable and high-quality built environment can foster community, strengthen resilience and boost competitiveness. The biennial Festival showcases the best practices of the New European Bauhaus, the European Commission initiative that brings the clean transition to our built environments and improves everyday life for everyone. It aims to inspire communities to reimagine spaces, design better living environments and drive sustainability and inclusivity. Many activities for diverse audiences are on the programme of the festival.

The 1st NEBA conference in Barcelona was co-hosted by the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), the InnovaWood network, and the University of Primorska as part of the UNESCO-UIA Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture programme. This first conference showcased good practices in skills development for sustainable construction and opened a strategic reflection on the Academy’s future role as a comprehensive support system for creating beautiful, regenerative, and inclusive neighbourhoods across Europe. The 1st NEB Academy Conference marked an important milestone in shaping a European ecosystem for sustainable construction skills. Beyond showcasing achievements, the event strengthened collaboration, sparked new partnerships, and laid the foundations for the next phase of the NEB Academy’s development.
The World Conference on Timber Engineering (WCTE) is the largest global scientific forum to advance the field of engineering with wood as a building material. Numerous InnovaWood members attended, contributing to numerous sessions and building up their collaborations in this vibrant international community.
On the 13th and 14th of February 2025, the third international Drivers for Wood Construction (DWC) conference was held in Joensuu, Finland. The main theme of the conference was “Future Green Cities Fostering Growth Based on Wood.” The conference consisted of seminars and visits to wood construction sites in the Joensuu area.
